Ramon REO Owen orbits beyond the boundaries of special. He symbolizes variety and diversity while epitomizing individuality. As a producer his interpretation of colors, sounds, textures and feelings are what makes him a vital and necessary source to the current musical landscape. Studying illustration at the Ringling School of Art and Design, he went from the art studio to the music studio without any hesitation or deliberation. Music has always been a vital force motivating REO’s cause for existence and his means for creative expression. Recalling his experiences in art school, REO suggests, “The muse of my artwork was music. I would create artwork and the music would be there.” Acknowledging a world of music that he undeniably lived in prompted REO to head to his local electronics superstore where he purchased the necessary tools to further explore his passion.

As a result, REO translated his appreciation of music by undertaking its production. Strengthening as opposed to postponing REO’s passion, he was diagnosed with Hodgkins disease, a cancer affecting the lymph nodes. Instead of focusing on his life threatening diagnosis, REO retreated back to the cause that has informed his life, his passion for music. Not one to stop creating music REO declares “I never thought I would be in a position to say that I had cancer, but I told myself that I had already beat it, and I did.” Now after having spent close to seven years balancing and tweaking his own individual sound, REO has taken his career to the next plateau by forming the music production company, The Soundkillers.

His capabilities in the studio and his distinct understanding for all genres of music have encouraged REO to work with a variety of artists which include T-Pain, Teedra Moses, Juelz Santana. He also has featured productions with Keyshia Cole and Beyonce among other prominent music figures. However, REO’s discography is on a mode of permanent expansion. Currently residing in Los Angeles, REO is engaged in various projects that will undoubtedly showcase his unique and sought after talents. Versatility and ingenuity are traits undeniable in the work of Ramon REO Owen. Competent, he has yet to slide into fifth gear, REO may have traveled many miles and encountered numerous obstacles but his journey to the top is well underway.
