As a youth, Skies spent his time between Chambersburg and Waynesboro where his father – a local rhymer – planted seeds of rap success in the then 4-year-old toddler’s fertile mind. Not many people can definitively say they knew their purpose before kindergarten, but Lil Skies is not your ordinary 19-year-old. With a 4.0 GPA in college, Skies has skillfully used his book smarts in growing his bourgeoning music career. He partnered with hip-hop tastemaker Cole Bennett in filming a music video for Skies’ track “Red Roses” which then went on to garner over 34M views in just three short months.
Influenced by the punchy lyrics masked by melodic delivery like those of 50 Cent and Lil Wayne and the captivating boldness of artists like Lil Uzi and Travis $cott, Skies’ artistry spills beyond the studio and his coveted, handwritten book of rhymes. Lil Skies debuted his first mixtape, “Life of a Dark Rose” on Jan 10th 2018 which quickly entered the Billboard 200 peaking at #10 in its 2nd week with 99M streams to date.
